USEFUL INFORMATION

  • The Raasay Community Store is  community owned and operated. It is the heart of the island and we would encourage guests to support it and the other local businesses where possible. The store has access to good local meats which generally need to be pre-ordered. Please liaise direct via Facebook and Messenger. See https://www.facebook.com/RaasayCommunityStores/about/

  • The Sound of Raasay is home to five Raasay artisans. Located on the croft opposite the Isle of Raasay Distillery, you’ll find a wide range of lovely locally produced art and craft items. For more information, including up-to-date opening times, see Facebook https://www.facebook.com/share/17xBWu49Co/?mibextid=wwXIfr

  • The Raasay Gallery showcases the work of gallery owner Gordon J Cheape together with other local artists. Please see  http://www.raasaygallery.co.uk/about.html

  • Raasay House Hotel is located near to the ferry terminal and is an excellent place to eat (booking is essential). It also has an activities centre. Please see their website for details https://www.raasay-house.co.uk/

  • The award winning Raasay Distillery is the first legal distillery on the island and provides tours. It also provides excellent food but again pre-booking is essential. We would recommend the distillery tour.  www.raasaydistillery.com

  • Information about Raasay and the community can be found at www.raasay.com

  • The Raasay.com website has a number of excellent walks on it and the Forestry Commission website also has a good guide to the island and its walks. See https://forestryandland.gov.scot/images/pdf/rec_pdfs/RaasayLeaflet.pdf
